Error: Unable to connect to vCenter Converter Server

Symptoms:

You are trying to convert a physical machine to virtual machine using VMWare vSphere, and this error message come up “Unable to connect to vCenter Converter Server

Solutions:

If you are in a Remote Desktop session within your vCenter server, the quick fix you could do is to restart the service VMWare vCenter Converter. Otherwise, restart VMWare vCenter Converter service on your local machine if you have VMWare Converter Plugin installed on your local vSphere Client.

To start the VMWare vCenter Converter service, follow these steps:

    • Go to RUN, and type services.msc and press enter.
    • Search for VMWare vCenter Converter service (by typeing VMWare…), right click, select Restart.

  • Try again the import routine, it should be OK now.
